Confused about the "minimum" credit amount needed for items to appear in queue?

hey on reading a lot of the posts here in the forum i have seen people talk about how the “minimum” credit amount to appear in the queue is around 3000 at the moment i always assumed that the correlation between credit level and appearance in queue is direct and works its way up from 0; ie, with a credit level of 0 there would be 0 appearances in the queue, with a slightly higher credit level there would be more appearances, and so on, but based on what these people have been saying it is basically an all or nothing deal this seems a little strange to me! it is intuitive to just be provided with what you provide.. can someone explain? thanks! |

The way I understand it, your work is technically in the queue as soon as you submit it, but only five items appear at a time in the main queue. (Someone correct me if I’m wrong.) I suppose an Urbisian (pronounced \Ur-bee-shun\) could skip 20 a day until he got to yours. On the other hand, if you want your work to appear higher in the queue, you should keep a few thousand credits in your pocket. |

I think you’re right, Allen. It’s in the queue, but it depends on how many credits you have for it to appear in the upper echelons. Another way around this is to just focus on certain genres. Urbisian? What about Urbisite? Urbisonian? Hmmm… |

Well, we decided an Urbisite is like a parasite (or one who commits credit fraud or the host of other irritations). Yes, Urbisonian (my own creation, I believe – unless anyone wants to get into a petty brawl with me about it) works, but I like Urbisian (pronounced \Ur-bee-shun\) better now. It’s probably just a phase. Yes, focus on the genres! Especially humor/satire!! And short story! And query letter!! I’m sure you’ll find something there! :))))))) |

Urbisite: (n) One who submits a six word memoir and then leaves a 26 word “review” of a 5K word piece. Aargh!! |

The minimum required will lower now that the new locked review filter is in place. |
