I just spent 30 minutes on a detailed review for a friend, only to have the Proxy error wipe out my entire review and effort. I am super mega pissed here.

Why did this happen? What is going on with this bloomin’ site these days? I usually copy from Word, but this ONCE I decided to use the box… but NO! Failure failure failure!

AAAARRRGH!

Never.Use.The.Box!
Boxes are evil!
Everyone (including me) learns that when a server error destroys their effort and time for the first time.
Or, your own internet connection can break and off it all goes.
::pats Claire on head:: There, there…

OK, my own idiocy prevailed here. I’ve learned my lesson. Thanks for the pats, Jeb. Although you appear to have left some strange honey-colored emanation in my hair. It smells vaguely of glockenspiels.

Hmm… I like it.

I finished a long review in the box that first night of the outage and got the error message when I tried to submit. Using Firefox I just went ‘back’ once and my review was still there. I copied it to submit later. I’ve done this several times over the last year and a half, though I seem to recall it was dicey proposition with Internet Explorer. Anyway, your method makes more sense for long reviews Claire.

Well, they should’ve said firefox does that, then more people would use it. Instead they say that Urbis only looks better with firefox. Which it doesn’t.

Firefox I’ve found takes a little longer to respond at times, even on mega-fast machines. Often IE moves a little quicker. I would argue both are equally good, despite the spell checker and text preservation boasts.

Yes I was confused by Urbis looking completely identical to IE on Firefox too given the boasts on the homepage, but was swayed by the spell checker tool.

Text preservation? What’s that?

That’s what partico was saying about your reviewing remaining the review box when you click ‘back’ from an error page. You lose it all on IE.
